Good evening everyone, and a very warm welcome to the Parochial Hall for today’s Dominos Super League clash between Ballincollig and UCD Marian.

It’s always a great occasion when top-flight basketball comes to Cork and in Particular the parochial hall for today’s game an iconic venue across the island, today promises to be another exciting contest between two talented sides. A special welcome goes to our visitors from Dublin — the players, coaches, and supporters of UCD Marian — and in particular to Sean O’Flynn, who makes his return to Cork wearing new colours this evening. It’s always a pleasure to see former local players continuing to make their mark at this level, and we wish Sean all the best (after tonight’s game, of course!).

Player Profile - Latavious Mitchell

Position: Forward.

Height & Weight: Approximately 6′8″ (203 cm), around 230 lbs (104 kg).

Hometown / High School: Indianapolis, Indiana; attended North Central High School in Indianapolis.

College Team: Florida Memorial University (Lions), competing in the NAIA and part of the Sun Conference.

Was a 2025 All American conference selection as a Senior (as of 2024-25) at Florida Memorial.

College Career & Achievements

In the 2024-25 season, Latavious Mitchell averaged roughly 17.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in conference play.

Shooting for that season: ~ 55.7% FG, ~ 23.7% 3PT, ~ 63.2% FT.

He was named Sun Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year for 2024-25.

Started every game in that season and also contributed with assists, steals, and blocks: e.g., 48 assists, 24 steals and 16 blocks in conference play.

Playing Style & Strengths

With his size (6′8″) and rebounding numbers (10+ rebounds per game), Mitchell shows strong ability in the forward role to control the boards.

His field-goal percentage (~55%) indicates efficiency around the basket or in high-percentage shots.

Being named Player of the Year in his conference speaks to his leadership and impact on his team’s success.
